[MAN] Is it necessary to bake the module before soldering?

In general it is not necessary to bake the module before assembly. The reels have been vacuumed and sealed at the factory to reduce the risk for humidity absorption during transport and storage. If the module has been stored for a long time (more than 12 months) in uncontrolled conditions, it might be necessary to bake the module. Tests should be made in each case. As the module is carried in plastics tape, the baking temperature should be low, not to damage the carrier tape. Typical baking temperature is 40 – 60 degrees. The baking period should be minimum 48 hours, and longer for lower temperatures, in order to be effective.
