The only way to enter configuration mode is to set CONFIG pin low. From the PC side you can use the RTS line on the UART to set module in CONFIG mode, if you do not use handshake. You must in this strap the RTS line from the FTDI pin to the CONFIG pin on the module. From the PC application you can themn toggle RTS to enter configuration mode. Note however that the Radiocrafts PC application do not support RTS toggling, but if you make your own PC application you can include this feature.
