Yes, it will help improve the sensitivity but also make the module more vulnerable to saturation if a strong signal from a neighboring transmitter is present. But if they always have weak signals (long distance) then this LNA will improve the sensitivity. The theoretical percentage increase in range I would have to investigate further but it should be pretty significant if they are comparing line-of-sight values.
