Although the term “IoT is pretty new, it is a fact that many of the Wireless Sensor Networks in the field today are already a part of the IoT. Some networks are for local communication only, between a sensor and a local control system. But more and more sensors are connected to the existing IP infrastructure in a factory or a building through gateways, making them a part of the IoT. Radiocrafts work with gateway providers to enable cloud based IoT solutions for all our radio technologies. Another example is the Sigfox infrastructure with base stations that provides a direct link from the wireless sensor to the cloud.
