The RC232 Idle power consumption is 22 mA since the radio is up listening 100%. If you have strict requirements on ultra low power you can implement the application in order to save power. This is for example to have battery power devices to sleep most of the time (RF RX off) and periodically send message to the master. Alternatively send a beacon before receiving information. In most application this approach is doable since normally only on side of the link is battery powered.
