LOS is as always not specified and specially for the 169 MHz the antenna type is critical. We have tested range with RC1700HP using a default (not optimized antenna) quarter wave helical. The challenge is to find open areas to measure but we have transmitted successfully between two spots in Oslo with free line of sight of 8 km. Additional range testing will be done after working on antenna solutions.
